#TBT – April 27th

Happy #TBT!  Tonight’s official #THROWBACKTRACK is “Today” from the Smashing Pumpkins’ 1993 album Siamese Dream.  ON THIS DAY in 1994 the band played a surprise show to re-open legendary San Francisco venue The Fillmore.  Formerly known as Majestic Hall, promoter Bill Graham made it famous in the 1960’s booking everyone from The Grateful Dead, to Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd.  Still thriving to this day, they hosted Anthrax last Sunday, Andrew Mcmahon In The Wilderness will be there on May 7th!  Check out the rest of this week’s featured throwbacks below.

MONDAY [4/24]: Green Day – “American Idiot” from their 2004 album of the same name.  ON THIS DAY in 2011, after nearly 450 nights, the broadway production of American Idiot took the stage for the final time.  Green Day’s Australian tour kicks off at the end of the month, they’ll be back in America this August playing shows with Catfish And The Bottlemen.

TUESDAY [4/25]: Papa Roach – “Last Resort” from their album Infest released ON THIS DAY in 2000.  Their new album Crooked Teeth is set for release on May 19th.  If you pre-order it via Pledge Music, you’ll be given access to the band’s ‘Updates’ page featuring streams of songs and videos of the guys in the recording studio.

WEDNESDAY [4/26]: Jet – “Cold Hard Bitch” from their 2003 debut album Get Born.  It topped Billboard’s rock chart ON THIS DAY in 2004.  Frontman Nic Cester has been playing solo gigs in Australia, his new band the Milano Elettrica made their debut earlier this month at the Byron Bay Bluesfest.  Still no name or release date for his upcoming solo album but we do know that he worked with producer Jim Abbiss, best known for producing Adele’s album 19.  Sign up for updates on the band RIGHT HERE.

FRIDAY [4/21]: Incubus – “Drive” from their 1999 album Make Yourself.  It was also featured on the Now That’s What I Call Music Volume 6 compilation which topped the Billboard 200 chart ON THIS DAY in 2001!  In total, 18 of 62 editions have landed at #1.  Shout out to the guys in Incubus, their new album 8 came out on Friday April 21st.
